EDISON MFG CO
Brand new watercolor illustration with some pinstriping on the glass for San Diego’s Edison MFG Co.
Had a blast with this and will hopefully be doing some more in the near future!
HOMESICK SAN DIEGO
I’ve been a fan of The Gypsy Gentleman series since the first one came out, and I am very stoked to see their latest issue featuring a place that, although I am from South Africa, I consider to be home…San Diego. I used to live just up the road from Black Panther Tattoo, got my hair cut at Two Roses right next to Chicano Park and Rob Benavides did some artwork for a company I used to work for. Oh, and the burgers at The Station were amazing, haha.

BLAME BETTY
The great folks at Blame Betty in Calgary asked me to redesign their brand identity with some new logos to be used on the online marketing, and store windows etc.
They wanted to keep the font they had already been using but needed a new, fresh “pazzaz” on the original design.
I had a blast doing it and if you’re ever in Calgary make sure you pop in to their store and get yourself some fine threads.
MOTIVATION
Thanks to the Concrete Skateboard Magazine for leading me on to this.
If you’re looking for some motivation & inspiration then watch this short clip on Devon Blood, a brilliant tattoo artist from the Bay Area who was almost killed during a break-in and had to relearn to draw, paint and tattoo with his left hand:

HAS THE DESIGN SAILED AWAY?
Looking at my last three posts one might very well be wondering where the design has gone?
But fear not, behind the scenes, the computer has been churning and the design has been a-designing.
I have been in the middle of some great design work from some awesome clients and I shall post it as soon as the work is complete.
But back to non-design work and something, as you’ve noticed, that I’ve been trying to get more in to, and that’s painting.
Here’s another ink & watercolor painting on watercolor paper that I finally got finished this weekend.
